Molzen Corbin designed and performed construction administration and observation services for the replacement of the Runway 2-20 medium intensity runway lighting (MIRL) system. A new can and conduit system with LED lighting replaced an existing quartz direct buried system. Runway 2-20 is the primary runway at SAF and is critical for the continuation of commercial air service at the airport. In addition, all tower controls to the lighting system were replace with fiber optics cable. Molzen Corbin also installed a new radio controller and relay cabinet. The $500,000 project was successfully completed without interruption to the existing commercial service.
