The I-25/Williamsburg Interchange Improvements project saw to the replacement of the existing deficient, flood-prone trumpet-style interchange with a modern, resilient diamond interchange that enhances safety, drainage performance, and community identity for the Village of Williamsburg and southern New Mexico travelers. As prime consultant, Molzen Corbin led planning, drainage analysis, and roadway and bridge design, working closely with NMDOT to evaluate alternatives and demonstrate measurable safety improvements using ISATe. Advanced 2-D hydraulic modeling informed the design of sedimentation ponds and improved culvert systems to address severe flooding and sediment buildup. Completed in January 2025 on schedule and within budget, the project delivers safer traffic operations, reliable flood protection, and an enhanced gateway aesthetic through coordinated bridge art and patterned riprap, exemplifying innovation, collaboration, and lasting public benefit.
