The award-winning Girard Boulevard Streetscape Improvements Project for the City of Albuquerque Aviation Department project serves a heavily traveled corridor that is a gateway to the Albuquerque International Sunport, welcoming visitors to Albuquerque and the Land of Enchantment. The corridor also provides access to well-established office buildings on the west side and is home to the Aviation Center of Excellence on the east side. To support the established business community and residents, Molzen Corbin worked to provide a “park-like” streetscape design for the west side of the corridor. The park incorporated lawn and resting areas, accent walls, and a new 7-foot asphalt multi-use trail. Along the east side of the corridor, Molzen Corbin provided a more industrial design that incorporated traditional curb and gutter, sidewalk, drainage, and xeriscape landscaping.
