Bowman Avenue serves as a collector street in the Town of Mesilla through a mix of land uses: farming and residential. Molzen Corbin completed the survey and roadway design, including complete roadway replacement. The existing condition of the road was poor with drainage issues throughout. During coordination, the City of Las Cruces, adjacent to the Town of Mesilla, contracted Molzen Corbin to design a replacement waterline that ran beneath Bowman Avenue. The vertical roadway profile was designed to be elevated in areas adjacent to the farmland to preserve the roadway from the farmland irrigation. In addition, the Town asked Molzen Corbin to design a new irrigation culvert located on the north end of the project.
