The Molzen Corbin team wanted to go beyond just making the tap water meet regulatory standards for the residents of Anthony by providing water that was not only safe but also tasted great. The team evaluated the legalities, water rights issues, and groundwater situation. We then developed a program to upgrade the District’s wells and the design and construction of a water treatment facility that removed not only the arsenic and nitrates but also the total dissolved solids that made the water taste bad. Molzen Corbin obtained funding through the USEPA and five other funding sources, and working with community leaders in Anthony, chose a tailored innovative reverse osmosis system for its ability to remove arsenic and nitrates along with the total dissolved solids.
